Canning is so deceptive... you see the picture like this and think canning is a good thing. I wish I had taken pictures of my kitchen, laundry room, family room, etc. while I was trying to can. Then, the next time I walk into the neighborhood farmers market and see such beautiful cheap produce I will turn around and walk away instead of getting sucked into the idea of canning. I am glad I did it and glad it's done. I'll probably never let anyone use it. We'll just look at it and try to remember not to do it again.

what did you can? they look beautiful!
I did strawberry jam and blueberry sauce. Thanks Janet.
Wow! I can't even imagine how you got that done with a 4 month old and 4 other kids! I did a few jars of strawberry jam, but not very many since we don't have much room for storage yet.
My other kids are pretty old ( I have a 15 year old girl) so they are a lot of help. How is the house hunting going Kris?
I know how you feel! I give the evil eye to anyone who even thinks about eating what I canned. ha ha
I remember one year I wanted to fill ALL my jars-700 of them. and I DID it!. I hated to use anything because I just liked looking at them. LOL
700?!?!?!! Yikes! What did you can Janet? Was it all from your garden?
True, having some teenagers probably helps out a ton! We finally closed on our house last Friday and Kent is living there now. We won't be moving in until July 20th b/c we are painting and putting new carpet in, so the rest of us are up here still. It's been a little crazy! BTW, do you eat ALL of that stuff in one year?! Our strawberry jam goes pretty quickly! Dang, Janet! That's crazy!!!!
I'm sure you are very ready to get settled. That is exciting! We go through it pretty fast, maybe not all in a year but close. I usually freeze more, but I want to save the space in my freezer for other things.
